GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE THAGARAPUVALASA

The Government Degree College (GDC) was established in the year 2019, with the admission process commencing in 2021. In the inaugural academic year (2021-22), the college offered admissions in four undergraduate programs: BZC (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry), B.Com (General), MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), and MPCs (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science). Since then, the institution has been functioning successfully, ensuring quality education and holistic development for students.

Initially, the college operated temporarily on the premises of the Zilla Parishad High School (Girls). From the academic year 2024-25, the college has implemented the Single Major System in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Currently, the Government Degree College, Thagarapuvalasa is functioning from the premises of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Type IV. The college continues to operate seamlessly, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students while necessary arrangements for the establishment of a permanent campus are in progress.
